Tim Gunning Chief Executive Officer
Tim joined Ord Minnett in 2009 as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Tim is responsible for all Ord Minnett businesses throughout Australia and Hong Kong including private wealth management, institutional equities, fixed income and corporate finance.
Tim has over 25 years’ experience in the private wealth management, funds management and financial markets industry. Prior to joining Ord Minnett, Tim was general manager of Commonwealth Financial Planning at Colonial First State where he was responsible for the financial advice businesses across the Commonwealth Bank. Tim held various board positions across Colonial First State and was a member of the Colonial First State Executive Committee. Prior to joining Colonial First State, Tim was general manager of advice at Asgard Wealth Solutions and also held a number of senior positions at Deutsche Private Bank.
Tim is a Board Member of Stockbroking Association of Australia (SAA) and a Senior Fellow of FINSIA.
Robert Cloughton Chief Financial Officer
Robert is the CFO of Ord Minnett, having joined the company in February 2002. Prior to this Robert was employed by JPMorgan from 1989 through to 2001 in key finance and operational roles. Robert was the COO and CFO of JPMorgan Australia from 1998 until the merger with Chase Manhattan Bank in 2000.
Robert is a Chartered Accountant and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales since 1986. He holds a BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Statistics from Southampton University, UK.
Philip Chu Chief Operating Officer
Philip joined Ord Minnett in January 2010 as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Ord Minnett, Philip was at the Commonwealth Bank where he was the Head of Wholesale Administration for the Colonial First State business and also Head of Operations in the Financial Planning business. Philip has also held senior positions at Citibank and NCR.
Philip is responsible for the day to day operations of Ord Minnett and has a focus on improving operating process and procedures. The Administration Services team and Client Services area, Funds Management administration and the Business Applications team report through to him. Philip also manages key relationships with vendors, institutions and regulatory authorities. Philip holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales and a Graduate Diploma of Management from Deakin University.
Karl Morris Executive Chairman
Karl was CEO and Managing Director of Ord Minnett Ltd from 2004 until his appointment as Executive Chairman in 2009. Since joining Ord Minnett in 1990, Karl has managed all aspects of the business including stockbroking, funds management and corporate finance.
Karl is the Chairman of the Stockbrokers Association of Australia and QSuper. He is a director of RACQ; a Governor of the University of Notre Dame Australia and is on the board of the Brisbane Catholic Archdiocese Foundation. Karl is Patron of Bravehearts, a child protection charity.
Simon Kent-Jones Head of Private Client Research
Simon joined Ord Minnett in October 2006 from Macquarie Bank, where he worked for over 13 years, most recently establishing and running the Macquarie Financial Services Group private client research team for their 280 Advisers. Simon was an institutional equities analyst (healthcare / pharmaceutical) until 1997, when he moved over to the retail side of the business. Simon was also the Chairman of Macquarie Financial Services Group’s Investment Committee. As the Head of Private Client Research, Simon is responsible for investment strategy, portfolio construction, asset allocation, client seminars, presentations and road shows throughout the Ord Minnett branch network.
