Head of Institutional Equities

Nick Burmester is Head of Institutional Equities at Ord Minnett where he is focussed on servicing corporate and funds management clients.

Nick has over 16 years' experience in financial services specialising in emerging companies and hedge funds. Before joining Ords, Nick was Director of Equities Research Sales and Head of Emerging Companies at CBA, responsible for developing emerging companies' sales and research strategies, as well as capital raising activities. Prior to this, he was Head of Institutional Equities Sales at Evans and Partners, where he successfully established the Sydney Institutional business.

Nick has also held roles at UBS, Merrill Lynch, MF Global and hols a BCom and LLB.

Steve's title is Equities Sales and he focuses exclusively on servicing Ord Minnett's institutional clients in the emerging company sector, including its trading and execution capabilities, company research and capital raising activities.

Steve also has 20 years in stockbroking. Prior to Ords Steve spent 2 years at Shaw Stockbroking and 18 years at Goldman Sachs.

Richard has been at Ord Minnett for over 6 years in Institutional Equities Sales and focuses exclusively on servicing Ord Minnett's institutional clients in the emerging company sector, including its trading and execution capabilities, company research and capital raising activities.

Richard has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Ords, Richard held senior roles in Institutional Sales and Smallcap Analysis at Aegis Equities Research, BNP Paribas, Merrill Lynch and Bell Potter. Richard has also worked at Ernst & Young in its Audit Department and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Tim Last

Head of Sales, Trading & Capital Markets, Ord Minnett Hong Kong

Tim is the Managing Director and Head of Sales, Trading & Capital Markets for Ord Minnett Hong Kong.

Tim has over 20 years of experience in debt and equity markets within Australia and across Asia. He previously held Managing Director roles at both Merrill Lynch and Barclays Capital in Institutional Equities & Equity Derivatives and is based in Hong Kong having moved there in 1999 as a trader with Macquarie Bank.

From his extended time in Hong Kong Tim has developed strong relationships with not only institutional asset managers and hedge funds but also family offices and local corporates. His main focus is building out the Ord Minnett equity and wealth management business across the region, and, in particular, connecting emerging companies from Australia with strategic partners and investors from Asia.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Sydney University and is the Responsible Officer for Ord Minnett Hong Kong’s Type 1 & Type 4 licences with the SFC.
