Ord Minnett Charities Fund

Philanthropy is important for our clients, as well as Ords as an organisation. We provide corporate support for those in need, while a significant contribution is also made by our employees to make an impactful difference in the community

Collectively making a difference

We like to think we’re a dedicated bunch at Ord Minnett, for both our clients and the community.

We know the importance of walking the talk, especially when it comes to giving back. Many of our employees dedicate their time and money to supporting charities and we help clients who want to give back, with advice on structured giving through Ords’ philanthropic services.

Ords employees are proudly engaged in charitable giving

Since 2019, the Ord Minnett Charities Fund has been enabling employees to donate and fundraise for charities and foundations. The Charities Fund will match (up to a prescribed amount) employee donations to worthwhile charities.

The charities and foundations supported by the Fund are selected by a committee, made up of passionate Ords staff from all levels of the organisation, including Warwick Smith AO, Chairman and Karl Morris AO, Ord Minnett CEO and Managing Director.

Since inception, almost one million dollars has been raised for charities via our Fund, which is a result of generous contributions from staff and the firm.

Ongoing Corporate Support for those in need

With input from employees, the Charitable Fund Committee analysed thousands of charities to identify eight organisations to support. Staff decided the Fund would support high impact organisations across three key areas:

1
Vulnerable children and families
2
Children’s illnesses and disabilities
3
Domestic violence support

Helping women and children escaping domestic violence

Mary’s House is a 100 percent community-funded organisation that helps women and children escaping domestic violence. The service enables the women and children to feel safe and empowered to take the first steps in rebuilding their lives.

Mary’s House can have a profound impact on the lives they support. Clients often arrive with just the clothes on their backs. Care starts with immediate essentials such as food, clothing and shelter, and can progress through to the development of tailored plans for them to move forward with their lives.
